North Valley Vineyards, Pinot Noir Origin Yamhill-Carlton District (2016)

The soils here are coarse-grained, ancient marine sediments layered over siltstone and sandstone. Pinot Noirs from Yamhill-Carlton display black and red fruits, noteworthy minerality and earth, with fine structure and balance. Please view our spec sheet for more details about this wine.

North Valley Vineyards is a dedicated Partnership between Tony & Michelle Soter (of Soter Vineyards) and Winemaker James Cahill, representing a unique combination of deep, collective experience and genuine passion. The Willamette Valley appellation describes a fairly large area – almost 160 miles long, and nearly 45 miles at its widest – it is in the much smaller, northern corner of this region where the overall best vineyards are. Here in the “North Valley” we source, farm, and produce our artisan Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from a diverse range of noteworthy sources within the six sub-appellations of the region. So whether it is the Dundee Hills, Ribbon Ridge, the Eola-Amity Hills, Yamhill-Carlton District, Chehalem Mountain area, or McMinnville, we are there, spending time with our growers in their vineyards each week, from flowering all the way through harvest.
